Festival Of Burns

Its time for Sankranthi/Pongal celebrations in many parts of India.
As per the believers and as per the sayings, Sankranthi stands for good and brighter future.

Makar Sankranti is the day when the glorious Sun-God begins its ascendancy and entry into the Northern Hemisphere and thus it signifies an event wherein the Sun-God seems to remind their children that 'Tamaso Ma Jyotir Gamaya'- may you go higher & higher, to more & more Light and never to Darkness.

Thus Sankranthi has a great importance not just as a festival, but as the one that blesses us all with much more happiness and prosperity. But this time in India, the Congress led UPA-2 has taken steps which is forcing the AAM AADMI (the common man) of India to take burns and not the prosperity.
The common man's aspirations to have a bright year ahead are cut by the Government.

There have been steep increase in the prices of FMCG, daily commodities and Petrol increasing over 5 times in the last one year.

Recently, there has been an increase in the Bus fares, Railways.
There are already decisions taken by the UPA-2 on the price increase in other items as well -

Diesel by Rs.5.
Remove subsidy on Diesel. [Petrol is already sold at international market prices].
Electricity charges are about increase by 20% from April-2013.
Increase in Home registration charges.

While the Govt., bodies have already started peraring for this hike and have reportedly taken all necessary steps to make sure the price hike gets rolledout without any issues with the public.
But what the Govt has not bothered to take care is
the proper supply of electricity to the country
No promise to keep the companies running their business without power cuts.

Over the last 2 years, Hyderabad rocker has brought articles on these issues and have sensitized the readers and helped them in making proper deicsions relating to their family budgeting. However, the UPA-2 seems to be running the business with out proper planning and budgeting!

HAPPY SANKRANTHI

A Dangerous Ride

A dangerous ride for the SOCIETY. Below is the pic from the local newspaper which shows a person carrying his cute little bundle of joy-his daughter in one hand riding the bike with the other. Suddenly he lost control of the bike and hit a slow moving car.

If the car would have been a little faster or if someone from the back would have hit this guy, image the what joy will he have? Its because of people like this, we Indians are facing accidents

B.Tech Baba (2 cents for freshers from Industry)

Recently, during the fun time at office, I had a chat with one of the Manager's whom I have known for the past 4-5 years. He has an industry experience of over 14 years in the IT and ITES field. His rich industry experience has always made him special to us.

Not because of the 14 yrs tag, but because of his ability to help us understand how to grow in the IT industry and make a positive difference. It is not just how to grow in the IT industry alone, but how to make ourselves more employable, preparing ourselves to be more demanding in the market.

HYDR: What do you think is the most important quality that the upcoming generation has to carry with them to get into a job in terms of a fresher?
Robin: On a broader note, there are many points that together make a person more important for the market.
For a fresher, to be in specific, you need to carry two qualities.
1: Being Adaptable 2: Keen interest in learning.

HYDR: Can you brief us on these two?
Robin: Being Adaptable: This means, you should make yourself be placed in such a situation that you are ready for whatever the situation is! No matter what the risk involved is, you must be ready to get in and start contributing to the success story.

So when I say - Contributing to the success story, here comes the concept of  inclination towards continuous learning.
When you have the zeal towards continuous learning, you keep yourself updated to the demands of the market. You are updated with the terms of the Technology that you are working in.

This doesn't necessarily mean that you should learn multiple Languages like Java, C#, C++, F#. It means, you should be tracking the changes coming up in the Technology that you are currently working on. What are the new trends in it. How is market using it to deliver better to the clients.

So friends, be adaptable and continuously strive to learn! All the best!

Kushaiguda- Nagaram Road - beyond expectations

Its been said again and again. We need not repeat it. Indian roads - They are more than just UNSAFE- They are beyond expectations for the citizens.

And what more? I am among you who are going through this pain everyday. Every time you take the road. Here is an article about the road that leads to my home. What is so great about it?

40 accidents and 11 deaths in the last 6 months. Thanks to the EENADU, at last for bringing it to the newspaper.

For a safe foot

In India, i see everything is more messed up these days than ever. Starting from the Panipuri dabba to the parliament house!
There is mess all over. Something inspired me to write this on my blog. Yes, they are the ITMD and the Right2walk teams.
ITMD- Its time to make the difference.

Today, they have uploaded a picture on their FB's wall, that shows a Merc car belonging to the Jewelery shop owner. Whats the big thing in this? Sure, there is! The car is parked on the footpath. The path that belongs  to the pedestrians. The complete rights on that path belongs to the pedestrians.

OMG! what did i just right! I am sure, you might be thinking that i have gone mad. Yes, being in India and asking for the pedestrian rights makes you a mad man! Even the Panipuri wala will slap you. The road side business guys will start shouting on us - "You are snatching our livelihood. What sin did we commit? what bad did we do to your family?" And suddenly there is a person taking the sand-dust that resembles the dust from a mining area from the unclean road into his/her hands and starts cursing you and your dynasty.

When will we realise that missing pedestrian paths will one day curse our own children? We are building a completely unsafe road policy to our kids. Someday, when a kid gets hit by a vehicle people start doing dharna/rastha-roko/agitation on the roads. Police will do their duty and law will take its own course of action. Time plays a more vital role- and we all forget this and move on!!!

A view from Apple iStore- Sydney-Australia

I was shocked and surprised and then was happy with the way drivers give way to the pedestrians in the other countries even when there is a free left turn for the vehicles. In India zebra crossings are to decorate the roads, fill the pockets of the contractors. Many of the vehicle drivers/riders don't even understand the meaning of it. Come on, what the bullshit are you talking? When there are no roads in many places, where will the markings be?

Social Foot print - The next Careful step!!!

This week, the Hyderabad rocker team celebrates reaching 200+ followers on the twitter.
On this eve, we want to bring in a new column - a new topic here!!!

Few decades back, having a postal address was a great thing and receiving a post was a WoW thing then (This was during our Grandfather's days).  After that came the electronic-computer revolution.
In late 90's and early 21st century - associating with a nearest internet cafe and possesiing a free 5MB e-mail in Hotmail/Yahoo/Rediff  made you the person of discussion among your peers when it came to the term technology.

I still remember - It was May-11-2000, that for the first time I got an e-mail id and exactly two years from then, in 2002, I created my footprint on the net by becoming a blogger (Blogger demanded a new account to be setup then and it was not associated with G-mail id then).

Surprisingly, WWW-internet turned 30 years recently.

Thus, with the revolution, having a social presence has become a necessity. No matter whether we really use them that frequently or not, but associating with the social networking sites have become a kind of need of the hour. Agree?

[Yes] Then there is a need to be socially sensitive as well. Social sites like Facebook and Twitter have become a hit across the sections of the soceity, irrespective of the age. The idea of FB, TW have been hit for the simple reason - Humans have the habit of exaggarating their activities, what to tell others about their activities, the cool things they do and at the same time wanting to know what others are doing. From this zeal of the human nature, these sites survive.

Thus, knowingly/ unkowingly, the things we write, might sometime make us land in trouble. So-
  • Don't post/tweet content that can embrace your friends and family.
  • Don't post things from your office space. You might be unkowingly making company key things public.
  • Remember all posts in social media, by default are public.
  • Once posted/ uploaded on social sites, the content cannot be deleted completely from the internet as they will be cached/fed to servers for backup.
  • Don't post content that can cause hatered.
  • Don't write anything abusive about anyone and dont post content that might be wrong in the point of view - of your employer.
  • Don't post content that potentially can bring in a difference of opinion on you with others on a wrong way.
  • Don't post about your whereabouts - Like - On a vacation with family! Watching Skyfall with family at a cinema! or Partying with family, Out of Station at uncle's home! These can bring in unwanted visitors to your home at a wrong time and can make you lose!
  • But as the same time Modi has used Google+ hangout to reach out to the younger generation voters.

Happy Social Networking!!!
