Some facts about the India gate :
In 1974 , the then Prime Minister of India, Shrimati Indira Gandhi ji has made the Indian gate have the names of the Soldiers who have laid their lives for the Mother India.
There at the base center of the Indian gate lies a rifle that stands on its nose, covered by the Helmet that is worn by the soldiers. And this rests on a pillar of about 2 feet which is covered by the black marble and written on it "Amar Jawan"
The Pillar is surrounded by four fire openings that burn continuously and they have been burning for the past 37 years now. Every Republic day the Prime Minister of India, visits this place officially for the event and salutes the Amar Jawan, who have laid their lives for the sake of Mother India
